Kelsey is a Detroit native and Wayne State University graduate, currently living in and working in Philadelphia.

After more than a decade of community and creative work in Detroit, Kelsey was called to explore the east coast and took on a role with the City of Philadelphia. In her current role as Communications Manager for the Office of Innovation and Technology, Kelsey is utilizing the writing, strategy, and design thinking skills she cultivated throughout her career to execute the communications strategy and media relations for two City departments.

A passionate urbanist, humanitarian, and creative thinker, Kelsey created Roots to Rise to engage individuals, businesses, and organizations in social change for communities through engagement, communications, and project management. 

 

Kelsey's broad scope of work has allowed her to collaborate with Detour Detroit, The Majestic Theatre Complex, Strategic Community Partners, Challenge Detroit, Citizen Detroit, PopChips, Bloomscape, Downtown Boxing Gym, MoGo Detroit, Fort Street Open Door, Corktown Business Association, and many more.
